Surveyor 3100

a.k.a Marvin the VassarBot

CoroWare was asked to provide a custom robot for several cognitive science and psychology researchers at Vassar College in 2004.  We responded with the VassarBot.  Sporting a four wheel drive, skid steer base, pan-tilt camera, stereo microphones, speaker, accelerometer (driving the user’s force-feedback joystick), Wi-Fi, mini-ITX motherboard, the robot package also included teleoperation software able to run on any Windows PC. The robot and its descendants are still hard at work at Vassar doing teleoperation and virtual reality research.
