Simulation systems allow developers to test their code under highly-controlled circumstances.  Standard techniques can aid development and debugging by accurately reproducing specific test conditions, as well as simulating emergencies and failure events.  Adding physics to a simulation can enhance these efforts, allowing the simulation to more accurately model interactions such as friction and inertia between robots and their environment.

We have been developing custom algorithms using CUDA. We also off-loaded some computing load from the Mini-ITX board to a remote PC. CUDA allows designers and researchers to work on compute intense algorithms such as visual SLAM.
