April 21, 2010: 2009 - The year to forget?
Not for CoroWare's Robotics team!
2009 was definitely a year that saw economic challenges for every company, and CoroWare was no different. During a time of strong downturn, we saw more than 11% growth in our product sales. This is something we're rather proud of, and at the same time, we feel appreciation for all the customers who stayed with us and showed continuing interest in our product lines.
We believe much of our success comes from the core target values behind our products:
- Affordable - By choosing highly integrated and commodity components whenever possible we reduce our product development costs, and we pass these savings on to you.
- Capable - We have targeted our products to provide a significant amount of functionality right out of the box. This includes not only the basic set of components we provide, but the teleoperation application and complete source code. This creates a robot that you can start using as soon as you get it.
- Expandable - Our robots are designed to be modified. We don't void the warranty the moment you start removing screws; we encourage it (of course we'd recommend you put them back as well). By providing a standard operating system environment, it is possible to plug in new devices and use them almost immediately. We have customers who have added everything from stereo cameras to radiation detectors. Our robots are a starting point - where they end up is entirely up to you.
